Role Summary

The Senior Director of Content Innovation and Generative AI is a pivotal role within the Marketing Technology and Services organization. In partnership with the Chief Marketing Office (CMO) and all business units at Pfizer, this role demands a visionary leader who can blend cutting-edge technology with creative content strategies to revolutionize how we engage with our audiences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading content innovation, driving the development of immersive experiences through a dedicated studio, and leveraging generative AI to enhance our marketing efforts, bring us closer to our customers and gather and leverage insights through the use of our Marketing Technology platforms.

This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, creative vision, and strategic thinking, with a strong emphasis on leading-edge technology applications in content creation and marketing. This role will be a key driver in transforming how the company connects with its audience, leveraging the latest innovations in digital marketing.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Strategic Leadership in Content Innovation: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for leveraging generative AI and interactive and immersive and interactive content, ensuring alignment with the company's digital strategy and business and marketing objectives.

  • Studio Management and Interactive Content Development: Lead and oversee a studio dedicated to the strategy, roadmap, standards and best practices for immersive experiences.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business and marketing teams to integrate AI-driven and innovative content solutions that enhance customer engagement, brand visibility, and market positioning. Collaborate with Digital to deliver solutions. Ensure collaboration between technical teams, creative staff, and business units for cohesive content strategies.

  • AI Technology Oversight and Integration: Manage the selection, implementation, and optimization of cutting edge content and generative AI technologies for use across patient and HCP initiatives and platforms. Ensure integration of these capabilities into content production and distribution workflows.
     
  • Content Quality and Compliance Management: Ensure solution use adheres to security, regulatory standards, industry best practices and internal policies.
     
  • Innovation in Content Experiences: Stay ahead of industry trends in immersive technology and GenAI, leading initiatives to explore new applications of technology to drive our marketing efforts forward.
     
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of AI-driven and interactive content. Make informed decisions to enhance content relevance, engagement, and impact of experiences.

  • Ethical and Responsible AI Use: Promote ethical AI practices, ensuring transparency and respect for privacy and data security.
     
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Build, lead, and mentor a diverse team, including AI specialists, content creators, VR/AR developers, and digital strategists. Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
     
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Engage with key stakeholders, advocating for the integration of interactive and immersive technologies in content strategy. Communicate the value and impact of these initiatives effectively.

  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the budget and resources for Gen AI and content innovation projects, ensuring efficient use of funds and maximization of ROI.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years’ experience
  • Ability to assimilate new technologies and concepts as needed.  Marketing Technology (MarTech) and GenAI skills are a must and experience both operating, overseeing and developing new MarTech and GenAI solutions is an advantage.  Must be able to grasp the right level of technical skills required to make key tactical decisions for the group, if required.  
  • Demonstrated progressive experience successfully designing, delivering and maintaining Information Technology business solutions for mid to large-scale organizations across multiple hardware and software platforms
  • Proven ability to manage to financial goals, both in own area, and in support of a larger entity.
  • Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with indirect resources geographically distributed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Strong people management experience
  • Should possess strategic thinking skills to align actions with long-term goals, anticipate future trends, and make decisions that contribute to the overall success of the organization

Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree
  • Proven progressive experience as an Information Technology professional, preferably in a pharmaceutical industry

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily computer-based work.  This role will be demanding and will require self-regulation of workload and effective time management to be successful.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Travel will be required as part of this role.  Expectations around travel will vary but candidates must be capable of travel within the region, to other regions, and to Pfizer World Headquarters. 

Pfizer Digital is a 7x24x365 function.  This role may require physical or virtual participation on a weekend, holiday, or after normal business hours.  Flexibility is desired as needed.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
