Job Description

Job Title: Test Data Engineer

Working Pattern: Onsite - 9/80

Working Location: Indianapolis, IN

As a Test Data Engineer for Rolls-Royce, you’ll deliver the capability to test products at system, subsystem and component levels, collecting and validating data to support the verification of product designs. The Test Electrical Systems team is responsible for bringing new test capability to Rolls-Royce and for maintaining reliable test equipment that Rolls-Royce depends on to pass certification and development testing. What you will be doing:

  • Configuring in-house developed data acquisition systems (DAS) for engine and component testing.

  • Maintaining and deploying data acquisition systems for test programs and facilities.

  • Supporting calibration activities for deployed data acquisition systems and instrumentation.

  • Executing design and fabrication of harnesses and electronic support equipment for engine and component testing, and capturing schematics in AutoCAD or related CAD packages.

  • Supporting periodic offsite investigations through deployment of standalone data acquisition systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology/related STEM field with 4+ years of experience in a relevant/related role OR;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology/related STEM field with 2+ years of experience in a relevant/related role.

  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen.

  • This role may require upwards of 20% travel to our Rolls-Royce West Lafayette facilities, and periodic travel to domestic offsite locations.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with configuration/deployment of data acquisition systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical interconnects.

  • Exposure to calibration of data systems and sensors.

  • Exposure to cable/harness design and fabrication.

  • Exposure to design and construction of analog electronic circuits.

  • Exposure to gas turbine engines or engine test stands.

For fully remote roles, employees can live in any state except Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, Vermont, and Wyoming.

Salary Range: $70,629 - $105,943
