The Role

The AGT Commercial Excellence (CE) Function’s mandate is to build new operating models and operationalize new capabilities to drive productivity gains in Sales and CS across all GTM segments as Large Enterprise, Mid-Markets, Global Partner Solutions, Public Sector, and Wholesale.

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of advanced methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources. Your work will generate actionable insights and solutions that underpin and drive informed decisions, thereby enhancing productivity in Sales and Customer Success across various GTM segments such as Large Enterprise, Mid-Markets, Global Partner Solutions, Public Sector, and Wholesale.

You will build statistical models that inform the design of new operating models, the re-engineering of E2E processes, and the optimization of how CS and Sales professionals’ work. You will foster innovation by developing predictive models to anticipate customer needs and streamline operations through advanced analytics.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough data analysis to uncover insights that inform the redesign of operating models and drive continuous improvement in our GTM models across different segments.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to support the commercial team in achieving their productivity goals and targets. This includes implementing data-driven strategies, tailored specifically to the need of each GTM segment, to identify and measure the key activities / drivers that drive productivity gains across the Sales and CS.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to optimize and re-engineer E2E critical Sales and CS processes and motions. In doing so, accelerate and scale productivity gains in Sales and CS.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop predictive models that inform capacity planning, targeting and enable proactive customer engagement – churn prediction, upsell targeting for example.
  • Mine information for previously unknown patterns and insights hidden in these assets and leverage them for competitive advantage.
  • Solve problems at the cutting edge of technology, lying at the intersection of science, engineering, and business acumen.
  • Be part of a highly skilled agile team within a strongly focused DevOps culture.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Expertise in applying techniques such as classification, clustering, regression, association, anomaly detection, time series forecasting, Hidden Markov models, and Bayesian inference to solve pragmatic business problems.
  • Ability to design working models and implement them on Big Data systems using Map Reduce or Spark frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Scope, Cosmos, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working within an agile, iterative DevOps development process.
  • Fifteen plus years of experience; 10+ years
  • Master's degree in a related field,
  • Proficiency in statistical programming environments like R, Matlab, or Octave .
  • Fluency in one or more object-oriented languages like C#, C++, Scala, Java, and scripting languages like Python or Ruby .
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Math, Computer Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines is a plus.
  • Experience with Cloudera or Pivotal Hadoop distributions, Pivotal HD, GemFireXD, HAWQ .

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
