What you´ll do

You will be working in an international and competitive environment on a high-profile European Project and will be able to further develop your technical as well as your leadership skills.
As Planning Engineer you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Contribute to define the concept and implementation of AI in the existing tools
  • Review and assess existing prototype using vLLM, LiteLLM, Vespa, and OpenWebUI
  • Identify areas for improvement or optimization, especially in terms of validation and data access and implement solutions
  • Implement robust data validation framework, including validation of embedding databases, data flows, and model outputs
  • Implement and enforce proper authentication and authorisation mechanisms to control access to different data collections
  • Integrate real-time data monitoring and logging, including error tracking, data anomalies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Enhance data ingestion and access layers ensuring that data flows efficiently and securely into the pipelines
  • Conduct end-to-end testing and continuous validation
  • Identify existing or future needs for further development in the frame of the DLR GfR Flight and Ground improvement initiatives and navigation tools

What we are looking for

  • A degree in Computer Science, engineering or in a similar subject
  • Proficiency in Python, particularly with PyTorch, Polars, and scikit-learn, as well as at least one systems’ level language (Rust, Go, or C++)
  • Proven experience designing, debugging, and maintaining AI-backed data pipelines and machine learning workflows
  • Experience with LLM inference technologies and vector databases, as well as text and visual embedding ML models
  • Competence in building and exposing asynchronous APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Actix-Web) and integrating them 
  • Demonstrable experience with pipeline/data reproducibility and tracking tools (e.g., DVC, MLflow)
  • Practical familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) server & client technologies and related standards
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
