Position Description 

Data is central to ESB’s Strategy for Net Zero. The successful candidate will operate as a core member of the Analytics team in ESB Customer Solutions and work closely with our customer facing business units to understand the data requirements and help to translate them into robust technical solutions. They will gain a deep understanding and knowledge of customer data across all business units and be able to analyse, identify and create solutions using this data.

The role will also require the applicant build data solutions using technologies like SQL, Power BI, Python, R and Azure.

This is a permanent position
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data analysis, working with the business operations team to develop reporting capability.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication are core skills required for the job.
  • Creating meaningful visualisations, working with key stakeholders in the business to determine analytical requirements and design solutions to inform decision making such as:
    • Customer segmentation
    • Trend analysis
    • Predictive analytics
    • Insights and analysis into large datasets
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across the business including Telecoms, Trading, SES and Data Quality Projects. Implement data governance and data quality controls.
  • Develop and Implement AI use cases for multiple business areas.
  • Support self-serve reporting for various business units by identifying data sources and coaching business users on how best to access and analyse it.
  • Agile product delivery, working as part of a team collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

Experience & Qualifications

The candidate should have a proven track record in working with data to solve business problems with a good understanding of Analytics tools, databases, and their capabilities. 

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in designing and developing data visualisations through Power BI.
  • Experience with Machine Learning using Python/R.
  • Experience using SQL to write stored procedures and functions.
  • Experience in managing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets.
  • Stakeholder management and excellent communication skills.
  • A third level qualification in Computer Science / Statistics / Maths / Data Analytics or equivalent work experience.

Desirable

  • Experience in Data Science algorithms and methods.
  • Experience in SAP BO / BW / 4/Hana.
  • Experience using R, SPSS, Python, Power Shell.
  • Agile project management / Scrum Master.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
  • Postgraduate in Data Science / Data Analytics / Maths / Computer Science or similar.

 

Location

This position will be based in Swift Square Santry

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

 

Reporting to 

The successful candidate will report to the Customer Solutions Analytics Manager.

Salary 

€48,000 - €56,500 per annum (depending on experience)
