Job Description

ABL Diagnostics is looking for a bioinformatician to join the Bioinformatics team and help develop our web-based software for analysing DNA sequencing data (Sanger and NGS) in the context of infectious diseases (virology, microbiology).
The Bioinformatics team regularly supports and interacts with other departments in the company (R&D, Field Application Scientists, Regulatory) and frequently with clients to provide Level 2 support.

We are looking for a bioinformatician with experience analysing DNA sequencing data and basic understanding of NGS sequencing platforms and protocols, and that feels comfortable interacting with people from different knowledge backgrounds.

This position is open for our office in Marseille. Proficiency in both French and English required.

Qualifications

Desired skills and experience

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Bioinformatics.
  • Familiarity with DNA sequencing techniques and protocols, particularly NGS technologies.
  • Experience with DNA sequencing data analysis: quality control, sequence alignment, variant calling, phylogeny reconstruction…
  • Proficiency with Python and basic knowledge of Perl, R and Bash.
  • Experience working in Linux OS.
  • Proficiency with French and English.
  • A good background knowledge in a couple of the following areas will be highly valued: genetics, genomics, microbiology, statistics.
