The Manager, Data Governance is responsible for developing the vision and strategy for data governance and for implementing the initiatives to ensure data risks across the Bank is managed and remains compliant with required regulatory and compliance obligations. This will include providing oversight of the Data Governance function across the Bank and assisting Treasury as the SME on Treasury related data governance.

 

How will you make an impact

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for the data management framework and governance across AMP Bank, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Lead the refresh and maintenance of critical data elements (CDEs), data lineage, quality monitoring, business glossary and metadata management.
  • Define and uphold data management standards, stage gates and assurance processes aligned with best practices
  • Perform annual review of data policies and standards to identify changes needed to address AMP Bank’s obligations
  • Work with Data Stewards to triage and prioritise data concerns across the AMP Bank 
  • Ensure data governance deliverables are embedded in project delivery through impact assessments

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Data Governance within Banking
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing data governance vision and strategy
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Working knowledge of CPG235, CPS234, Privacy Act, BCBS239, GDPR, or other data-related regulations
  • Knowledge of Banking, including Treasury

 

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive outcomes both with and without formal authority. They thrive in fast-paced environments, bringing a strong sense of urgency and a focused, goal-oriented mindset to every challenge.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrated experience in Data Governance within the Financial Services sector. The candidate should have a deep understanding of compliance requirements and data risk management, particularly within Banking and Treasury contexts.

This person will excel at delivering results through excellent analytical thinking and will be highly effective in both written and verbal communication, adept at conveying complex information with clarity and precision.
