Epic Business Intelligence Developer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Epic Business Intelligence Developer (BID) is responsible for configuring, testing, and creating analytics content within the Epic environment, utilizing tools such as Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, and Cogito SQL. The BID will work to display Epic data from systems including Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle, while ensuring that reports are tailored to meet the needs of data consumers. Key duties include writing and modifying SQL, configuring Radar for custom SQL metrics, and distributing analytics content. The BID will collaborate with subject matter experts, review peer reports for accuracy, and maintain the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems,   statistics or equivalent experience.
2. Strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
3. Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
4. Experience with analytics tools and data visualization.
5. Familiarity with Epic applications and database structures.
6. Ability to understand and optimize data models across the entire data environment.
7. Prior experience with AR systems for financial reporting is beneficial, though not required.
8. Epic certification in one or more data models (Access, Clinical, and/or Revenue) is preferred.
9. This position requires a mix of technical expertise, problem solving, and collaboration, ensuring that Epic’s reporting and analytics systems effectively support the organization’s data needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Creating Analytics content within the Epic environment (Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, Cogito SQL
2. Will engage with data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle
3. Writing and modifying SQL statements
4. Analytics content distribution
5. Develop full understanding of Epic data models
6. Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non‐production components

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
