As a Data Analyst, you will join a team that is transforming existing and developing new digital services and tools across all DNV's industries. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about building analytical solutions with great analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining knowledge base about data sets available for end users
- Performing data analysis and quality integrity inspections
- Explore and analyze datasets from external and internal providers
- Preparing data queries (SQL) to answer business questions in cooperation with domain experts
- Onboarding new users to data platform
- Assisting users and solving their problems related to Databricks usage with assistance of Team members (querying data, Databricks management)
- Daily operation of data processing pipelines – handling alerts and failures, with assistance of other team members when necessary
- Testing of data processing pipelines

Requirements and skills:
- Very good understanding of the DataBricks platform
- Configuration of Unity Catalog
- Managing connectivity of external data
- Understanding of the security model
- Achieving proficiency in SQL and data analysis
- Advanced usage of windowing functions and aggregations
- Advanced usage of geospatial functions (area intersections, area aggregations, point in polygon)
- Good understanding of query performance and tuning in Spark
- Basic data engineering in Python
- Using Python to build custom data visuals (both on charts and maps)
- Basic usage of Pandas for data transformations
- Basic usage of PySpark to extend missing functionalities in SQL
- Usage of Jupyter notebooks for data exploration
- Basics of using Machine Learning models in Python
- Power BI, especially related to visualizing geospatial datasets
- Understanding of core Azure components related to data processing:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure DataBricks
- Azure SQL
- Azure storage accounts
- Basic networking rules related to securing connectivity between the above
- Basic skills related to Dev-Sec-Ops
- Ability to understand and run CICD deployment pipelines
- Understanding of GIT and the GIT Flow model
Good to have skills:
- Microsoft certification in relevant technologies will be a plus
- Business analysis and requirements gathering experience, including BPM, Agile, or Lean
- Basic general Python experience
- Knowledge about DevOps culture (pipelines, yaml’s etc.)
- Basic knowledge about Azure
- Basic PowerBI experience
- Basic Git knowledge
- Passion for the energy transition to a decarbonized energy system
- Experience building positive, collaborative relationships with colleague across locations, cultures, and technical experience levels
