How you’ll make an impact
AMP has developed and maintains an enterprise (group wide) approach to risk management which provides an integrated framework to identify, measure and manage risk and harness opportunities.
The Credit Risk Analyst is primarily focused on analysis and insights into credit risk in the mortgage portfolios to minimise and mitigate impact on Earnings Volatility by providing insights to permit policy and process interventions, providing modelling and validation support for key automated credit risk processes, and overseeing the credit loan loss provisioning process.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Undertake analysis, modelling and reporting on mortgage credit risk as directed
- Take ownership of data and reporting by providing meaningful insights in line with credit risk events and emerging trends. Discuss these issues with Credit Insights and Analytics team, and with relevant people in Home Lending ‘tribe’ to assess, quantify, and manage credit risk
- Utilise analytics techniques – using Excel, coding, automation, and visualisation tools – as directed to assess future risk, opportunities, and translate results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making
- Prepare key reporting for Bank Credit Risk Committee Group, Board updates, and regulatory reporting
- Liaise with stakeholders to prepare the Bank Credit Risk Committee pack and take minutes in the meeting as the secretary
What you will bring to the team
- Proficiency in Excel and Power BI and coding experience (Python, SQL or R) is required
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a quantitative discipline like finance, economics, mathematics, statistics
- Relevant experience (at least two years’ experience) in a financial risk management context
- Ability to maintain stakeholder relationships at a range of levels
- Understanding of the financial services industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to inform or influence audiences
