Associate Data Engineer

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will work closely with senior data engineers and analysts to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and integrations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational skills in data engineering to grow and develop in a supportive environment.

This position reports to the IT Analytics Manager and is based out of our San Diego, Irvine, Bozeman, or Hyde Park offices.  

As the Associate Data Engineer, you will have an opportunity to:

• Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Assist in building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement database schemas and data models.
• Support data integration efforts from various systems to our data lake.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across different data sources.

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Introductory experience with Azure, with a focus on Azure Data Factory (ADF) being a plus.
• Knowledge of database and data design principles.

You might have:

• Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Databricks or Apache Spark.
• Relevant coursework or projects in data engineering, databases, and cloud computing are a plus.

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $86,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
