Job Summary

This position is a data management/programming position within the Division of Sleep Medicine Epidemiology and Cardiovascular Research in the Department of Sleep and Circadian Disorders. The primary role of the data manager/programmer, under the direction of the IS Systems Manager, will include database creation, data management, and data cleaning as well as report generation for ongoing clinical epidemiological research projects, including large cohort studies and genetic-epidemiological studies. Duties include programming (SAS, R), database creation (REDCap), data management, data harmonization and cleaning, report design and generation, user interface design, and creation and maintenance of SOPs/documentation. The RDM will oversee the merging and tracking of multiple streams of data, including physiological data, sleep data, environmental exposure data, and genomics data. With oversight from lead statisticians, will assist in statistical analyses. The RDM will provide input on the design of data collection instruments, assist with implementation and oversight of data management and maintenance (e.g. documentation, SOP creation), assist with intermediate and final report generation, provide quality assurance monitoring for data input from various sources and sites, conduct basic statistical analyses, and to assist with preparation of grant applications.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Analytics required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Building proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.
- Solid analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgments to make decisions within scope of job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
