WEX Inc. seeks a Manager, Global Credit Risk Strategy, in Portland, Maine (telecommuting permitted) as a leader in WEX’s Global Risk Strategy and Analytics team to direct a team of professionals to manage, analyze, and measure credit and market risks and opportunities for enhanced profitability and revenue across WEX’s global products. Key duties and responsibilities include leading and managing a team monitoring, analyzing, and measuring credit risk through the customer lifecycle to provide timely detection and mitigation; supervising and mentoring direct report professionals on WEX’s Global Risk Strategy and Analytics team; developing and continuously enhancing policies, processes, and controls for mitigating credit risk exposure including frameworks that identify growth opportunities and risk considerations; designing customer communication and servicing strategies based on data insights, working closely with the lines of business and the risk engagement team to support risk management strategies; leading a team in gathering and validating information and applying judgement & statistical tests for credit decision sciences that will be leveraged by the Risk Solutions team for implementation in modeling activities;  providing insights and recommendations for risk mitigation actions directly to WEX senior leadership; identifying, evaluating, and integrating new data sources and capabilities into decision-making and working with the Risk Product team to ingest these sources for use in decision making; conducting quantitative analysis to decide the thresholds within which businesses can access funds, which supports the lines of business and its strategic imperatives; analyzing large volumes of data to identify emerging credit trends and create remediation strategies and recommendations aligned with strategic imperatives; partnering with other teams across the company to standardize methodologies, including WEX Bank, Product, Technology, Data & Analytics; developing and continuously enhancing policies, processes, and controls for mitigating credit risk exposure including frameworks that identify growth opportunities and risk considerations; and maintaining an effective control environment and responding to operational breakdowns with discipline, such as ensuring that vendor data variable variances are identified and remediated.

The minimum requirements for the position are a Master's degree in Business Analytics, Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field; three (3) years of credit risk management experience in the financial service industry; and the following proficiencies/skills gained in professional experience or related academic programs: understanding of credit lifecycle; ability to analyze large datasets using SAS, SQL, R, or Python. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package.
