What is a Director – Asset Strategy & Data Analytics?

As the Director of Asset Strategy & Data Analytics, you will champion a disciplined, value-focused approach to asset management in a regulated utility environment. By unifying strategic asset planning, advanced analytics, and enterprise asset-management systems, you will ensure every investment delivers the optimum blend of reliability, risk reduction, and customer affordability. Your leadership will translate regulatory obligations and corporate objectives into actionable portfolio strategies, data-driven insights, and system enhancements that maximize long-term value for our customers and shareholders while upholding our commitment to safe, sustainable service.

What does a Director – Asset Strategy & Data Analytics do?

  • Defines and oversees a comprehensive asset strategy for all electric and gas T&D assets that aligns with corporate objectives, emphasizing reliability, cost-effectiveness, and long-term value

  • Grows and guides a data-analytics function that employs advanced techniques (predictive modeling, machine learning, and other data-science methods) to deliver critical insights that drive best-in-class decision making across the enterprise

  • Directs a portfolio of operational research & development initiatives- piloting emerging technologies, facilitating proof-of-concept projects, and translating successful trials into scalable operational solutions

  • Provides strategic oversight for enterprise asset-management systems and related data platforms, ensuring they are maintained, aligned with evolving business needs, and continuously enhanced to support reliability, regulatory, and financial objectives

  • Partners with leaders across the company to harmonize asset-strategy, analytics, operational R&D, and system enhancements—aligning scope, resources, and priorities to achieve measurable business outcomes

  • Translates organizational objectives into clear, actionable roadmaps for asset initiatives, analytics projects, system upgrades, and R&D pilots. Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities, then recommend strategies to adapt and thrive

  • Establishes transparent metrics and reporting that communicate progress, ROI, and key operational impacts for asset strategy, analytics, R&D, and system performance—ensuring all efforts deliver measurable value

  • Builds and mentors high-performing, cross-disciplinary teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and professional growth while cultivating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

  • Provides support for storm restoration efforts

What does it take to be a Director – Asset Strategy & Data Analytics?

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field and 10 years of leadership experience in strategic asset management, data analytics, or a comparable technical/strategic domain

  • Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional teams, gain buy-in from senior stakeholders and drive organizational change

  • Proven record of developing and implementing asset strategies that optimize performance, reduce costs, and align with broader corporate objectives

  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences

  • Track record of championing new ideas and innovative approaches that deliver tangible results, especially in complex operational environments

  • Commitment to staying current on evolving technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments that impact asset strategy and data analytics

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Experience in the utility or energy sector
