What You Will Do:

This Data Analyst role will work with an Agile team to support data visualization, business analytics, data management, and digital engineering processes for a major program office at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). A strong understanding of Agile methodology and business analytics is essential to help the program understand how to effectively run monitor its performance through reporting dashboards, tools, and the creation of data sets/key performance indicators. This role will be co-located with the Agile team on client site and requires excellent communication skills to frequently participate and occasionally lead meetings on status updates and visualization or digital engineering initiatives. Seeking a candidate with the ability to proactively identify program needs and help the office mature its visualizations and business analytics in line with technology/data solutions advancement. Specific duties will include:

  • Apply extensive knowledge to integrate, develop, and maintain analytic models, visualizations, and tools to evaluate, analyze and communicate internal/external user behavior and overarching enterprise or portfolio performance.

  • Provide statistical and mathematical support in assisting in the analysis and interpretation of a wide range of data to help understand and improve the customer's experience.

  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboard visualizations to address business questions and catered to specific audience groups

  • Leverage a range of data sources (e.g., survey responses, production databases, Jira, SQL databases, etc.) for an understanding of overall program performance.

  • Provide insights that will be used to inform decisions and agency operational strategies

  • Applies business analytics and customer segmentation techniques in any corporate function, e.g. marketing analytics, consumer analytics, operations analysis, human capital analytics, or other relevant fields.

  • Establish an Agile analytics process that provides better insight into ongoing analytic/data visualization activities.

  • Manage an inventory of implemented dashboards, other analytic products and current product backlog for implementation.


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance; must UPGRADE and MAINTAIN a TS/SCI with a COUNTERINTELLIGENCE (CI) polygraph

  • Minimum of EIGHT (8) years of working experience in supporting data analysis

  • Demonstrated experience developing visualizations or the analyses of business data

  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards in Tableau

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing computer programs, software, or a variety of coding languages


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify methods and approaches to expand and enhance the analytic capacity and ability of an existing portfolio.

  • Demonstrated experience working with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) statistical software or tools for data visualization (i.e., SPSS, SAS, MatLab, etc.).

  • Demonstrated experience data mining, to include developing, manipulating, or maintaining databases.

  • Experience with Python, MySQL, D3, SPSS, SAS, Visual Basic, or R to summarize statistical data and create documents, reports and presentations.

  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with various partners, stakeholders, or customers on the value of statistical and data science methods

  • Demonstrated experience embracing and participating in a culture of knowledge sharing to broaden the understanding of advanced methods
