Job Summary:
Title: Vice President, Data Science & Analytics
Reports to: Chief Digital Officer
Location: New York, NY (In-office, 5 days a week)
The Role:
The Vice President, Data Science & Analytics will lead a team of engineers and analysts in building strategic reporting frameworks while conceptualizing and maintaining intelligence infrastructure for the music, sports, philanthropy and brand verticals that encompass Roc Nation’s prominent roster of clientele.
Responsibilities will include standard weekly reporting, as well as, daily ad-hoc executive summaries to support digital, artist management, recorded music distribution, strategic brand partnerships, sports and philanthropic teams in a fast-paced working environment. The ideal candidate will display a passion and eagerness to convey business intelligence and analysis in a manner that’s compelling, digestible, actionable and comprehensible for executives and clients alike. This candidate is an excellent communicator and distiller of information and is comfortable and poised interfacing with senior leadership and Roc Nation’s clientele.
Responsibilities:
The Vice President, Data Science & Analytics will manage a team of analytics experts and work closely with digital account leads to ensure the timely and coordinated delivery of the following services and products to key stakeholders including senior leadership, commercial partnerships, distribution, philanthropy, artist managers, athlete agents and clientele.
Data Reporting, Insights, and Strategy
Manage standardized weekly & monthly reporting
Analyze social media, press, and music consumption data for daily ad-hoc insights on clients, client activity, events, trends and markets
Deliver key strategic take-aways for ad-hoc requests across all verticals (music, sports, brands)
Lead post-mortem reporting for major events, including lessons learned and suggested next steps
Design data visualizations and dashboards for relevant BI platforms & reports
Monitor ongoing social listening queries
Intelligence Infrastructure & Education
Conceptualize, innovate and maintain a proprietary intelligence system
Effectively communicate data insights, processes, and statistical logic to internal and external partners with varying familiarity around data
Diligently manage relationships with third party software vendors while keenly examining the technology landscape, looking for new software partnerships and integrations
Lead awareness of new products, approaches, and trends in the data & technology space - especially pertaining to the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence and its applications
Required Attributes and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field is preferred
3-6 years in a data-driven and analytical leadership role; preferably in the music, sports and/or entertainment industry
Experience managing a team
Entrepreneurial spirit and excited by fast-paced and demanding environments
Resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and diligent
Acute attention to detail with strong organizational and team management skills
Excellent communicator and dynamic presenter
Fluent in Excel, and familiar with coding frameworks (familiarity with SQL, in addition to Python and/or R experience is a plus)
Excited by the opportunity to incorporate AI, LLM and agentic technology into operational processes and infrastructure
Familiarity with major social media platforms and corresponding KPIs
Experience with web analytics including Google Analytics

The expected compensation for this position is:
$148,000.00 USD - $185,000.00 USD** Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
