Role Title : AVP, Analytics – Merchant Experience (L10)

Role Summary/Purpose:

AVP, Merchant Experience Analytics role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). The role involves developing analytical solutions in partnership with US Analytics teams across merchant acquisition and engagement analytics, marketing planning, measurement and optimization, targeting & segmentation, forecasting, etc. areas to identify growth opportunities , optimize business strategies and derive actionable insights across customer journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on analytic support to the Merchant Experience team as and when required and proactively manage all analytic projects with weekly update on timeline, status, and resource allocation.

  • Spearhead analytics delivery for new product launches, value propositions, merchant acquisitions, lifecycle marketing and customer experience initiatives directly with Sales and Marketing stakeholders.

  • Lead strategic/complex analytics projects from beginning to end, including ideation, data mining, strategy formulation, and presentation of results and recommendations

  • Provide strategic support and guidance for initiatives within Merchant Experience, inclusive of leveraging Ignite EDL data into optimization reporting, tracking migration of dealers through Merchant Prioritization Segmentation, measuring impact of FSM/ISR activities and marketing campaigns.

  • Advocate for key data elements in B2B data tracking initiatives with B2B COE, partnering directly with B2B COE on 3rd party data pilots.

  • Mentor and Lead 1 L8 resource to manage BAUs and ad-hoc work-sets to provide support to business and actionable insights to stakeholders

  • Design, develop, implement and monitor analytic solutions catering to business priorities and propose new analytic solutions to optimize business value and customer experience

  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop and implement analytic solutions to improve merchant experience across different channels

  • Ensure compliance with reporting audit governance activities for Merchant Experience team

  • Drive internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in building analytical solutions to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on SQL and SAS programming experience with an ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data sets

  • Good working knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills

  • Experience in managing People ; Coordinates work , supervises & evaluates performance, ensures employees are trained

  • Ability to see a business process as a synergy of multiple functions & create / connect KPIs

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to collaborate ,articulate and present solutions cutting across functional teams in a simple yet compelling manner

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior analytics leaders, and highly technical talent

  • Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS and SQL; Experience with open-source tools such as R and Python a plus; Experience with Tableau a plus

  • Experience with modeling/forecasting, and strong understanding of targeting and segmentation

  • Good understanding of credit card industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities

Eligibility Criteria:

BS or MS in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field with 4+ years of hands-on Analytics experience (Distance learning not valid) or in lieu of a degree with 6+ years of experience

Work Timings:

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
