Responsibilities

The Vice President, Insurance Data & Tech Strategy is a critical role that reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Revantage Insurance & Alternative Solutions (“IAS”). IAS is experiencing significant growth and increasing sophistication as it enhances its capabilities to support Blackstone and their Portfolio companies. To continue this trajectory, the VP of Insurance Data & Tech Strategy will work with the IAS and Revantage Technology team to drive the IAS data strategy and operationalize our priorities. This position can be based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL or our offices in Dallas, TX

As the VP, you will be responsible for identifying and executing a portfolio of data & tech strategic projects within IAS to advance growth, scale, efficiency, and service expansion. You will work closely with internal insurance team leads, Revantage tech team, global data team, and other cross-functional teams to support data initiatives, establish data management best practices and contribute to the adherence and creation of data policies, procedures and strategy. You will directly manage a team of data & tech professionals, overseeing automation, analytics, and data science initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in generating actionable insights that support decision-making across Revantage, Blackstone and Portfolio Companies we support. We believe this role is fundamental to meeting our IAS team customer service objectives, program optimization and efficiency.

This position requires a natural leader who can develop relationships and trust both inside and outside the firm. The candidate must exemplify strong execution and change management skills, demonstrate strong people management abilities, prioritize numerous competing requests while managing diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have subject-matter expertise in P&C insurance data and tech domain, experience in financial services, consulting and/or real estate, people management skills, and a track record of leading large-scale programs.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Co-manages IAS data (with Revantage Data & Tech team, Portfolio companies, and Blackstone) and conducts complex analytics to inform decision-making for other IAS functions (e.g., placement, claims)

  • Support the development and execution of data-driven strategies to improve business performance

  • Convert much of our work to AI-based automation, specializing in structure-level COPE data, claims and inputs required for analytics

  • Build out data science capabilities including actuarial and CAT modeling to better determine what risk we should self-insure, what we should pay for risk transfer and what structure is most efficient

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and insurance

  • Develop and implement tools and processes to establish and maintain a common data standard across the Insurance department. Assess and manage strategies to reduce data redundancy and enhance data consistency and confidence for decision-making

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the enterprise. Serve as a key subject-matter expert and escalation point, effectively communicating the importance and role of IAS Data & Tech to both business and technical communities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a strong, performance-oriented team capable of actively and effectively engaging and growing with the business

Professional experiences and qualities

The ideal candidate should also possess, at minimum, the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in data and analytics related roles; a background in Insurance strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the data science domain within insurance, preferably P&C
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data management and governance practices. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience building, managing, motivating, and retaining high-performance team(s) and driving measurable success in prosecuting those team(s) missions over time

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and standards including Actuarial analyses and CAT Modeling
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake).

Base Compensation Range:

$213,741.00 To $284,878.00. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Total Direct Compensation:  This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
