Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Data Architect with over 15 to 20 years of experience designing and implementing data solutions across diverse, regulated industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data modeling, data governance, enterprise data architecture, and data warehousing in cloud and on-premises environments. The role involves working closely with business and technical stakeholders to evolve scalable and compliant data solutions using modern tools and platforms like Snowflake, AWS, ERWin, Hadoop, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and data modeling standards.

  • Develop and manage logical and physical data models using tools like ERWinERStudio, and Model Mart.

  • Architect data platforms leveraging AWS (S3, Aurora, RDS)SnowflakeHive/Hadoop, and Denodo.

  • Define and enforce metadata management, master data management (MDM), data lineage, and data quality standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives across R&D, finance, compliance, HR, and IT.

  • Implement best practices for data retention, indexing, normalization/denormalization, and partitioning strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., SEC, FDA, FCC, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).

  • Support Agile SDLC processes from requirements through testing and deployment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

  • 15+ years in Data Architecture or Data Modeling roles across enterprise environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2/UDB, and SQL/PLSQL.

  • Proficiency with ERWinERStudioToad, and Informatica.

  • Experience in data governance, data lineage tools (e.g., Collibra), and business process modeling.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.

  • Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake, OLTP/OLAP).

  • Demonstrated experience working with large-scale data migration and consolidation projects.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud data architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Knowledge of data virtualization tools (e.g., Denodo).

  • DAMA membership or similar professional certification.

  • Experience in the financial, insurance, or pharmaceutical sectors.

 

Qualifications

These duties are too complex and specialized to be performable with a bachelor’s degree related to computer science or computer information systems or information technology.
