Goal of the Role:
Own and improve our reliable, scalable data and ML infrastructure that powers better recommendations, smarter decisions and a safer, better user experience. You’ll turn raw data into production-ready pipelines and ML+AI models that directly improve match accuracy, user retention and team efficiency across the company.

Key Result Areas:

1. Design, implement and maintain scalable data infrastructure:

   1. Build and optimize ETL pipelines to ensure high-performance and scalable data processing.

   2. Extend automation and testing capabilities for fault-tolerant and scalable systems.

   3. Collaborate with engineers to build out a scalable data infrastructure that acts as a single source of truth.

2. Deliver clean and accessible data to unlock advanced insights:

   1. Enable colleagues to carry out advanced analytics to drive data-informed decision-making by supporting the underlying data engineering needs.

   2. Develop and deploy machine learning models to enhance personalization, optimize recommendations, and improve operational efficiency.

3. Optimize our recommender system to drive a better user experience:

   1. Improve matching algorithms to connect users more effectively and drive engagement.

   2. Leverage various predictive modeling techniques to maximize user experience through better matching and personalization.

4. Apply ML and AI to power personalisation, safety and automation:

   1. Identify automation opportunities within acquisition and screening to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.

   2. Utilize computer vision, NLP, and machine learning for automated detection of scam and fake profiles, rude and inappropriate behaviour in conversations, etc

5. Drive the vision for how data, ML and AI can Improve the UX and business:

   1. Define and implement a strategic roadmap for scaling data engineering and data science efforts.

   2. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and other teams to unlock operational capabilities.

Requirements

What will help you be successful

• Educational background in a STEM field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science)

• 3–5+ years of professional experience in Python development, preferably within data or ML engineering roles

• Strong experience with ETL frameworks and data orchestration tools (e.g. Dagster, dbt)

• Proficiency with data warehousing platforms (e.g. Snowflake)

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. S3, Lambda, ECS, SageMaker, OpenSearch)

• Strong SQL skills and experience designing data models for analytics and ML workflows

• Experience deploying ML models in production and monitoring performance

  • Bonus: experience with recommender systems

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders

• Team player who enjoys working with others
