About People.AI Team
The People.AI team is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI/ML and LLM-based solutions that empower over 2 million Walmart associates worldwide. We focus on the development of intelligent applications powered by large language models (LLMs)—to transform the associate experience and drive operational excellence. We build enterprise-grade conversational agents and AI copilots embedded within chatbots, internal portals, and business applications. These solutions will enable associates to communicate more effectively, automate routine tasks, access enterprise data via natural language, and receive contextualized, real-time Q&A support.
What you'll do:
- As a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a front-end focus, you will play a key role in shaping
- the architecture, design, and implementation of user-centric applications that power critical
- business capabilities. From day one, you will be expected to lead by example, contribute
- code, mentor others, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact solutions.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Drive Architecture and Design: Lead the design and development of robust, scalable front-end and full-stack architectures that align with business goals and future growth.
- Engineer for Performance and Scale: Build complex systems with an emphasis on performance, security, and maintainability across web and mobile platforms.
- Mentor and Elevate the Team: Provide hands-on guidance, perform code reviews, and set standards for quality and excellence across engineering practices.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Product, UX/UI, QA, DevOps, and other engineers to define requirements, co-create solutions, and deliver results.
- Innovate and Influence: Stay current with emerging technologies, proactively
- introduce new tools and frameworks, and help shape technical strategy.
- Communicate with Clarity: Translate complex technical ideas into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong combination of technical expertise, product mindset, and collaborative spirit.
The most successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Proficiency in Modern Tech Stack: Deep experience in React, React Native, and Node.js for web and mobile development; familiarity with modern frameworks and build tools.
- Track Record of Impactful Delivery: Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade software to a large user base, with strong emphasis on automated testing and release management.
- Mobile Release Experience: Hands-on experience publishing apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with knowledge of deployment pipelines and versioning.
- Architectural Vision and Communication: Ability to define and communicate a clear architectural vision that resonates with engineers, product leaders, and executives alike.
- Depth in Systems and Data: Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), data modeling, and backend integrations. Bonus if experienced in ML platforms, NLU, or GenAI.
- Decision-Making and Business Savvy: Exceptional judgment and the ability to weigh trade-offs, prioritize business needs, and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Remote Team Collaboration: Experience working with globally distributed teams and adapting communication to drive alignment and shared ownership.
You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. It will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
