Modeling and simulation and Translational Disease Modeling (TDM) plays an increasingly important role in drug research & development at Sanofi. It is an important element in the Translational Medicine strategy within Sanofi R&D.

Join the Drug Disease Modeling (DDM) team in TDM as Principal Scientist and you’ll support our R&D portfolio with innovative DDM methodologies and drive the development of novel DDM methodologies.

Main responsibilities:
 

• Function as part of a team to develop and implement multiscale computational drug disease models in different therapeutic areas
• Implement innovative quantitative methods to integrate data of pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, and clinical outcome with data of patient characteristics and knowledge of disease mechanisms and disease states to facilitate quantitative decision making
• Survey literature to gain understanding of critical physiological processes to be represented, and identify suitable mechanistic elements, data, parameters and assumptions to be included
• Conduct hands-on data analysis, interpretation of results and reporting in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and guidance of regulatory authorities
• Work collaboratively with other modelers and different stakeholders (PK lead, statistician, clinician etc.) of the assigned projects
• Maintain drug disease modeling expertise through comprehensive education including attendance and participation in conferences, scientific workshops etc.
• Communicate modeling and simulation predictions to key stakeholders

About you

• Experience
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO health-related consulting company, academic experience
  • Experience in drug discovery/development a plus, especially in pharmacometrics
     
• Soft skills
  • Strong commitment to on-the-job-training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
     
• Technical skills & Knowledge: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Python) and solid hand-on experiences within a variety of computational modeling tools such as Monolix, Nonmem and Julia
• Education: PhD in, pharmacometrics, applied mathematics or related field as well as broad-based knowledge of quantitative clinical pharmacology related areas such as statistics, PK/PD, and systems pharmacology required
• Languages: Fluent spoken and written English is required and working knowledge of French is a plus
