Our department evaluates new technologies for the BMW Group IT and manages the international IT Tech Office network. We integrate innovations into the BMW Group’s processes from vehicle development and production to sales and customer services. In this internship, you will build AI-based tools for engineers in the virtual development process.

What awaits you?

• Join a multidisciplinary team working on the forefront of machine learning for physical simulations.
• Explore and evaluate machine learning methods for simulating physical processes in the virtual vehicle development pipeline.
• Train models to predict physical quantities from vehicle geometry data.
• Benchmark model architectures and investigate generalization strategies.
• Present your findings through internal reports and contribute to potential scientific publications.
• Collaborate with internal development and IT departments as well as external partners.

What should you bring along?

• Enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of machine learning principles and frameworks.
• Knowledge of simulation methods and scientific computing.
• Proficient in Python or C++; experience with collaborative tools like GitHub.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.
