At Biogen, the Data Management and Analytics (DMA) department serves as a cornerstone in transforming raw data into actionable insights that empower strategic decision-making across the organization. The Associate Director (AD), Data Management and Analytics Lead is a critical role within our centralized DMA IT organization, which operates as part of the EAUS IT team. This position focuses on delivering data management and analytics services to support our corporate functions. As the AD, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders—including Functional IT Teams, Build Teams, Solution Providers, IT Quality, Project Managers, and business users—to define and implement solutions that meet their data needs. You will act as the primary liaison for Corporate IT teams, translating their requirements into actionable plans, creating detailed user stories, and guiding development teams to produce impactful results. This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation in data management practices and deliver meaningful contributions to Biogen’s success.
This is a hybrid role based in RTP, NC or Cambridge, MA.
What You’ll Do
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities to identify and deliver Data Analytics solutions.
- Analyze and understand business requirements to ensure alignment with data management objectives.
- Identify data sources, acquire data, and prepare datasets for analysis based on business needs.
- Develop strategies, best practices, and standards for data analytics solutions to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Design, build, test, and document Data Management and Analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to support testing phases, including SIT, VAL, and UAT, and oversee deployments.
- Drive continuous improvement in DMA processes and technologies.

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related field) required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in delivering data management, data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence services.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including senior leaders across IT and business units.
- Proficiency with data management and ETL software packages (e.g., Informatica, Oracle, Snowflake).
- Proven experience in managing complex data integration projects with robust data analysis skills.
- Extensive experience with Agile methodology for project execution.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAFe, Informatica IICS, Snowflake, and Power BI.
- Background in the Life Sciences industry.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) business processes, data governance, and data quality methodologies.
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $157,000 to $216,000. Base salary offered is determined though an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
