About Outdoorsy Group

Outdoorsy is on a mission to restore our relationship with the outdoors and with each other. As the leading outdoor travel marketplace, we make it simple to rent an RV, book a premium campsite, and hit the road with confidence. We’re looking for a strategic and tech-savvy Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager who thrives at the intersection of data, creativity, and customer obsession to drive engagement, retention, and conversion across every stage of the user journey, powered by automation, experimentation, and AI.

About the role:

As the Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you’ll own the strategy and execution of Outdoorsy’s lifecycle initiatives, leading guests from first touch to booking, rebooking, and beyond. You’ll build impactful, data-informed programs that create meaningful experiences for our users, helping new guests convert into loyal community members and long-time adventurers.

Only candidates located in Austin, TX or a commutable range will be considered for this role at this time.

Your work at Outdoorsy

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle strategy and execution for guest journeys—from acquisition to booking to re-engagement—across multiple touchpoints, including email, push, SMS, and onsite messaging.
  • Develop and manage a robust multi-channel experimentation roadmap focused on improving performance across the conversion funnel and customer lifecycle stages.
  • Build, deploy, and continuously optimize high-performing automated campaigns and personalized journeys tailored to key behavioral and demographic signals.
  • Act as a channel expert and trusted advisor across email, push notifications, and SMS, guiding best practices, compliance, deliverability, segmentation, and cadence strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, paid media, creative, brand, data, and engineering teams to bring lifecycle programs to life, ensuring consistency and alignment across user experiences.
  • Partner with analytics to define KPIs, track performance, and deliver insightful reporting that translates data into actionable opportunities.
  • Partner with product and data teams to evolve Outdoorsy’s personalization capabilities over time helping us responsibly integrate AI and automation where it creates real value for the guest experience.
  • Identify friction in the customer journey and advocate for lifecycle-driven product enhancements that improve the user experience and increase retention.
  • Drive customer segmentation, journey mapping, and cohort analysis to uncover insights and develop targeted engagement strategies.
  • Balance short-term conversion goals with long-term community growth, championing a strategy that nurtures both new users and repeat adventurers.
  • Stay ahead of trends in AI, automation and innovation in the lifecycle marketing space, bringing fresh ideas to deepen engagement and loyalty in a two-sided marketplace.

Requirements

What you bring to the table

  • 7+ years of experience leading lifecycle, CRM, or engagement marketing programs, preferably in a two-sided marketplace, e-commerce, or travel/outdoor industry.
  • Deep knowledge of automated lifecycle programs and trigger-based communications that drive measurable customer impact. Strong understanding of data events and how these dictate dynamic content within messages.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests across mobile (iOS/Android), web, and messaging channels.
  • A strong analytical mindset with experience translating user behavior and campaign data into insights and recommendations.
  • Passion for optimizing and evolving the customer journey through segmentation, journey mapping, and performance-driven experimentation.
  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Attentive) and data tools (e.g., Tableau, Amplitude, Mixpanel) - knowledge of editing HTML within templates a plus.

  • Proven ability to apply AI in lifecycle marketing—including GPT-based content generation, AI-enhanced testing, and automated journey optimization. You know when and how to use AI to scale what matters and when not to.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution.
