About Organization

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Strategy Manager to join our Data Monetization Team within a leading telecom organization that is part of a larger group conglomerate. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and executing data monetization strategies for both internal group companies and external clients. This role requires a deep understanding of data-driven business models, pricing strategies, regulatory compliance, and product development in the telecommunications and digital services industry.

Job Duties

1. Data Monetization Strategy & Use Case Development

· Identify and prioritize high-value data use cases that can generate revenue for internal Rakuten group companies and external clients.

· Conduct market research to understand trends, competitive benchmarks, and regulatory implications of data monetization.

· Work closely with internal stakeholders (data & AI team, enterprise sales, revenue office, finance, etc.) to align monetization opportunities with business objectives.

2. Data Product Identification & Development

· Define and develop data products and services that can be commercialized, including data pipelines, aggregated insights, APIs, dashboards, and AI-driven analytics solutions.

· Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data availability, quality, and security for monetization.

· Design frameworks for scaling and expanding data product offerings across industries like finance, retail, healthcare, and advertising.

3. Pricing & Commercial Models

· Develop pricing models for data products based on market demand, competition, and customer willingness to pay.

· Propose and implement different pricing models including tiered pricing structures, subscription models, API-based pricing, and usage-based pricing.

· Work with finance teams to forecast revenue potential, ROI, and cost structures for monetized data services.

4. Stakeholder & Partner Management

· Engage with internal business units, group companies, and external partners to promote the adoption of monetized data products.

· Negotiate partnerships with third-party data buyers, analytics firms, and enterprise clients for long-term collaboration.

· Conduct training and evangelize the benefits of data monetization within the company.

Minimum Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience in data strategy, data monetization, analytics, or business development in the telecom, technology, or consulting industry.

· Strong expertise in data-driven business models, pricing strategies, and product development.

· Experience working with big data technologies, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and analytics tools.

· Strong analytical skills with expertise in market research, business case development, and financial modeling.

· Ability to work cross-functionally with senior leadership, data science, IT, and legal teams.

· Experience in managing data partnerships, licensing agreements, and customer negotiations.

· Strong communication and presentation skills to influence decision-makers and external partners

Preferred Qualifications

· MBA or Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or related fields.

· Prior experience in telecom analytics, enterprise data sales, or digital transformation projects.

· Knowledge of AI, ML, and predictive analytics for advanced data product development.

· Proven track record of successfully launching data-driven business initiatives.
