Job Overview 

The Power BI and Microsoft Fabric Expert has strong expertise in System Integration and Master Data Management (MDM) to design, develop, and optimize enterprise data solutions. This role combines skills in data architecture, analytics, visualization, governance, and integration to create seamless data ecosystems that drive business intelligence and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, MDM, and system integration, ensuring interoperability between different data sources and applications.

Responsibilities

  • System Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions across multiple platforms, ensuring interoperability between Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): Develop and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data consistency, quality, and accuracy.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling: Build scalable data models and architecture within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Power BI Development: Create interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions, optimizing performance using DAX and Power Query.
  • Microsoft Fabric Integration: Develop and manage data pipelines, data flows, and workspaces for advanced data processing and analytics.
  • ETL & Data Transformation: Design efficient ETL processes using Microsoft Fabric tools, Power Query, Azure Data Services, and integration middleware.
  • Data Governance & Security: Establish data stewardship, enforce security policies, and manage access control in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments.
  • Collaboration & Training: Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and training on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, MDM, and system integration best practices.

 

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data visualization).
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Data Lakes, Data Pipelines).
  • Proficiency in System Integration (APIs, REST, SOAP, Middleware tools e.g Zapier, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory).
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles, data governance, metadata management.
  • Understanding of Data Modeling concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse, Azure SQL)
  • SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize BI solutions.
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), DP-500 (Azure Enterprise Data Analyst), or system integration-related certifications preferred
  • Experience in enterprise data integration projects or large-scale system transformation initiatives
  • Excellent communicator and experience

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong background in Power BI, Excel, and data reporting.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

We are open to this candidate working from our Waltham, MA (US) office or Oxford (UK) office, and this role requires that the candidate have the right to work in that location.
