Data Analyst (Finance Team)

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Finance team as a dedicated data partner. In this embedded role, you’ll own the finance domain’s data operations, building analytical pipelines, improving data quality, and supporting decision-making across the department. You will work closely with a centralized Data Science team (who maintain the company-wide infrastructure), but your day-to-day focus will be driving impact within Finance.

This is a hands-on technical role where your skills in SQL, Python, and data visualization will help elevate how the Finance team accesses, interprets, and uses data.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the go-to data expert within the Finance team, acting as a bridge between Finance and the Central Data Science team.

• Own the creation, maintenance, and optimization of SQL queries and data pipelines (Postgres, Snowflake, dbt, Jenkins).

• Build, maintain, and improve dashboards and reports primarily using Tableau; propose and evaluate alternative tools as needed.

• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to define KPIs, validate data needs, and support ad-hoc and strategic analysis.

• Contribute to better data governance and documentation practices, promoting version control (Git) and reproducibility.

• Work to improve data reliability, consistency, and usability across the Finance function.

• Automate recurring data tasks using scripting in Python.

• Coordinate with the central data team on cross-functional data initiatives and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Strong experience writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, Snowflake).

• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.

• Experience with Tableau (or a similar BI tool), with a strong sense of data storytelling and visual best practices.

• Comfortable with Git and version control workflows.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience working independently and managing multiple stakeholder priorities.

• Based in Czechia, with options to work on-site or in a hybrid model.
  

Nice-to-Haves:

• Previous experience in a Finance, Accounting, or similar business function.

• Understanding of financial statements ( income statement, Balance sheet, cash flow).

• Familiarity with Excel.

• Familiarity with Jenkins or other orchestration/CI tools.

• Experience working in a hybrid data team model or embedded analyst setup.

• Payment/Fintech sector knowledge.
