Data Engineer Intern (Remote - US)
Wurl connects the world’s video content to global audiences. Our data platform powers advanced analytics, real-time decision-making, and secure operations across the OTT video streaming ecosystem.
We’re looking for a Data Engineering Intern to assist in enhancing the security and reliability of our platform—specifically focusing on key rotation and credential lifecycle automation. This role will provide hands-on experience in data engineering, security operations, and cloud infrastructure, with guidance from experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
- Support the implementation and automation of key rotation policies and secure credential storage across our cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure proper access control and encryption practices are enforced in all ETL pipelines and data services.
- Assist in developing monitoring and alerting systems for key usage and rotation schedules.
- Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge bases related to key rotation procedures.
- Learn about and contribute to large-scale, cloud-native data systems.
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Familiarity with Python and SQL.
- Understanding of basic cloud concepts (AWS preferred).
- Strong interest in data security, access control, and automation.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, remote engineering team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Coursework or experience with:
- Key management services (e.g., AWS KMS, …).
- Infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- SOC2, HIPAA, or other security compliance frameworks.
- CI/CD pipelines or secure software development practices.
