Summary

As a Data Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing the product backlog, prioritizing data-related initiatives, and driving the development and delivery of high-impact data products and services. This role bridges business, product, and technical teams to ensure the right data capabilities are built and optimized to support product innovation, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.

You’ll work closely with Data Strategy leadership, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Compliance teams to translate business needs into actionable data features, APIs, dashboards, and models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the voice of the customer and business for data-related products, features, and services.
  • Own and manage the data product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and prioritized based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify data product requirements, translating them into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product teams to plan and deliver data initiatives within agile sprints.
  • Work with Data Governance, Privacy, and Security teams to ensure compliance and responsible data management in all products.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality data products, from APIs and reports to scoring models and internal tools.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, driving agile best practices within the data team.
  • Track, measure, and report on key data product performance indicators and business outcomes.
  • Support the development of documentation, training materials, and go-to-market enablement for internal data products and services.
  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and issues across data projects and initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Data Product Manager in a data-centric organization.
  • Familiarity with data platform concepts, APIs, data pipelines, and analytics tools.
  • Experience working in agile development environments.
  • Strong skills in backlog management, stakeholder communication, and requirement prioritization.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business needs into technical data requirements.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in CPaaS, telecom, fraud prevention, or cloud communications.
  • Hands-on experience with data API productization or internal data platform products.
  • Understanding of SQL and experience working with data querying or visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
  • Exposure to machine learning models and data product lifecycle management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
