Data Analyst

Department: Sales

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Remote

Reporting To: Michael Horan

Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 / year


Description

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large sets of data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions and strategies. This role requires an initiative-taking individual who can effectively communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for the Data Analyst position is a meticulous and analytical professional proficient in SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. They possess strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. With a background in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics, they stay updated with industry trends and demonstrate high ethical standards in handling data. They are initiative-taking, adaptable, and capable of aligning data insights with business goals to drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Write SQL queries in a Teradata environment across multiple platforms.
  • Utilize Microsoft Access including data import/export, query building, information extraction, and mechanization.
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to perform hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Communicate findings and insights through clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data collection systems and strategies to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.

Job Qualifications

Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Expert knowledge of complex databases: i.e., Teradata database with thousands of data tables and views accessing customers, products, orders, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel Graphs, Charts, Pivot Tables, Power Point, etc.
  • Ability to write SQL queries in a large database environment. Must be a strong SQL Coder with Data Mining Skills (Understands complex coding processes, i.e., Joins, Aggregating Data, Building Temp Tables, Formatting Data, and Import & Export Processes).
  • Proficiency with ETL (Extract, Transfer & Load) processing.
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong mindfulness and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience: 
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role
Preferred Experience: 
  • Experience using UNIX, Fast Load, Fast Export, encryption software a plus; as well as experience/knowledge in the Telecommunication industry.
