Job Description
Shape the Future of Data and Analytics: Lead strategic planning and execute the ongoing expansion of the technology platform roadmap to drive innovation and efficiency.
Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner closely with IT leaders, data scientists, data engineers, security analysts, cloud engineers, and architects. Together, you will enhance the platform's technological capabilities to address the evolving data and analytics needs across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Vision & Strategic Planning: Develop and articulate a clear vision for the advancement of the platform to support and advance the organization's strategic objectives, addressing both current and future needs. Craft a detailed roadmap that specifies key initiatives, goals, milestones, and budget.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with IT leaders to comprehend their data and analytics requirements and provide effective solutions. Promote organization-wide use of platform by enhancing platform self-service capabilities and literacy.
- Innovation: Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering & analytics space and identify opportunities to drive innovation through experimentation and research.
- Technology: Lead the design, development, and enhancement of platform capabilities to enable cost-effective data and analytics solutions. This includes overseeing infrastructure systems, implementing best practices, automation, and configuration management, and optimizing system performance and security. Manage data ingestion, curation, and harmonization processes to ensure high-quality data flow across the platform. Ensure seamless integration and interoperability among diverse data systems by applying the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability) and an API-first design approach.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience; Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; PhD with 3 years of experience in application program development.
- In‐depth knowledge of cloud-based architecture, design, develop, deploy and manage large scale data and analytics platforms.
- Must have experience with concepts including but not limited to database design, ETL, data architecture, data modeling, interoperability, and API-first design.
- Strong programing skills in languages such as Python, Scala, Java and SQL.
- Experience with big data technology stacks such as AWS Data Lake Formation, Hive, Impala, Trino, Spark, Kafka, Neo4J and elastic search.
- Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automation frameworks.
Beneficial:
- Working knowledge of MLOps is preferred.
- Cloudera Public Cloud is preferred.
- Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
