This Senior Product Manager, Orchestrator is responsible for the vision, strategy and product roadmap of Skillable’s underlying virtualization and cloud platform capabilities with a focus on delivering excellent skill validation labs, to our customer base.  Expand Skillable’s existing product offerings by extending the cloud and virtualization fabrics and environments that Skillable services and supports.  

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product process from discovery to delivery for lab virtualization (Hyper-V and ESX) and cloud platforms. 
• Establish key success metrics and partner with engineering and product marketing to drive work to successful and timely release. 
• Build a vision and strategy to expand Skillable’s lab capabilities and grow total addressable market for hands-on labs.  
• Maintain balance with the continuous delivery and planning of this position’s product domain areas. 
• Own, package, communicate and maintain the end-to-end strategy & roadmap for the lab orchestration/virtualization environment capabilities continually prioritizing initiatives and work. 
• Refine business/functional requirements into engineering epics, features and stories and proactively refine and coordinate into sprint planning. 
• Coordinate with lab builders, and various teams for cross-functional work.  
• Lead processes with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams to ensure appropriate communication rhythms across the company. 
• Ensure acceptance criteria are very clear and push for great testing routines. 
• Produce documentation, presentations and inputs into product marketing assets. (e.g., how to implement, how to test, how to support, how to troubleshoot). 
• Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to ensure that Skillable’s lab virtualization and cloud platform offering is secure, reliable, performant and scalable. 
• Intercept, oversee and manage reported bugs through to closure within SLAs; with the necessary tracking and communication. 
• Follow and enhance Skillable’s product life cycle processes to continue adding efficiencies and deliver customer value. 
• Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. 
• Other strategic business initiatives or special cross-functional project involvement as required. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Product, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience. 
• Minimum 8+ years working with platforms and applications that orchestrate virtualization, automation and containerization. 
• 4+ years of experience in product management or software development, leading scrum or agile teams OR equivalent experience. 
• 3+ years working with customers, writing requirements for new product offerings, and collaborating with architects, developers, and related peer groups.  
• Proficient with at least one of the major Cloud Fabrics, eg Azure, AWS, GCP. 
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps and related disciplines highly desired. 
• Leveraged AI and or LLMs to improve or advance product offering.   
• Experience building solutions with modern GPUs is a bonus. 
• Desire to work at a fast pace with a bias for action. 
• Proven track record of managing and driving multiple initiatives forward within a matrixed, agile work environment, while maintaining the details of concurrent projects. 
• Working knowledge of technical terminology and ability to quickly become “conversationally competent” with a wide variety of cloud, virtualization, data, and technical concepts and terms. 
• Proven experience partnering and influencing cross functional teams to deliver high-quality on time deliverables. 
• Experience utilizing mixed methods research to make data-informed decisions. 
• Natural leader who consistently pulls teams forward and creates a high performing environment. 
• Ability to work through complex problem and deconstruct it into a concise, impactful solutions 
• Ability to present and convey material both formally and informally to all levels of the organization 
• Experience and familiarity with collaboration, productivity and work management tools like Click Up, Asana, Guru, SharePoint, Teams, Slack, Jira, Azure Dev Ops (ADO) is expected. 

Salary Range 

The base salary for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans. 

Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges. 

Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time. 

Pay range and current benefit offerings are effective for 90 days from posting date.  Standard employment offerings are subject to potential change upon periodic review and analysis, at the discretion of Skillable.

Working Conditions:  

The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
