In this role you will support the management of data governance policies, standards, and guidelines. You will perform routine assignments using existing procedures and requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to data governance. The role also includes participating in data governance initiatives and projects, while receiving guidance from more senior-level roles.

You will report to Senior Manager, Data & AI Governance.

Position Compensation Range:

$78,000.00 - $128,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

  • Identify and categorize data assets based on sensitivity, including personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), financial data, and other sensitive information.
  • Support the day-to-day operational support of data ingestion in GCP.
  • Participate in the automation development related to GCP classification work.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure compliance with classification standards.
  • Perform ad-hoc classification requests.
  • Assist in establishing connections between our classification tool and on-prem databases.
  • Work with the classification team members to identify configuration issues to improve accuracy.
  • Participate in policy review.
  • Conduct access audits for Restricted and Confidential data.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing structured and unstructured data.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of data governance related tools, techniques and standards to ensure an effective and clear governance process.
  • Demonstrated experience reading data models to understand structural metadata commonalities for data warehouses.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience with and understanding of metadata, reference data and master data management, process, procedures, and tools.
  • Demonstrated success in communicating with and working collaboratively across multiple subject areas and technical business teams.
  • Experience creating process flow diagrams and maps.

Preferred skills:

  • Basic understanding of data classification principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with data classification tools and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

In this hybrid role you are expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month out of the Madison, WI or Boston, MA offices.
