Data Engineer

This role is on our industry leading credit cards platform. We are currently seeking a Data Engineer for our Cards Technology team in the Charlotte, NC area .

In this role:

You will work with our product, design, and engineering teams to plan, design, and develop customer facing applications for credit cards. We offer an opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment with people who value their work and who welcome fresh ideas.

· Design and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS.

· Build and maintain systems for collecting, transforming, integrating, and delivering customer data.

· Perform data processing and transformation using technologies such as Apache Spark and various cloud services.

· Explore and evaluate new technologies and architectural patterns.

· Collaborate with agile teams and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies.

· Utilize source control systems effectively and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

Qualifications:

· Solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.

· Proficient in Python programming.

· Familiar with Big Data technologies, particularly Apache Spark.

· Hands-on experience building data pipelines using AWS services, Docker/Kubernetes, and Apache Airflow.

· Skilled in working with various data formats, including JSON, Avro, and Parquet.

· Strong command of SQL for data querying and manipulation.

· Quick to adapt to and implement new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

· AWS Certification

· Hands-on experience with tools and platforms such as Snowflake, PySpark, Apache Airflow, Terraform, Looker, and various AWS services (including EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Glue, and SageMaker)

· Familiar with CI/CD and collaboration tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence
