What you will do 

The Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scripts and tools that automate network tasks such as configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will ensure network operations are efficient, scalable, and error-free by reducing manual processes. By implementing automation, you will also improve response times, reduce downtime, and enhance network security. Your work supports business objectives by increasing operational efficiency, lowering costs, and enabling faster delivery of services. Ultimately, you help align IT infrastructure with business growth and agility goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop scripts and tools to automate network configuration, provisioning, and maintenance.

·       Use Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to manage and version network configurations.

·       Automate network monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve issues proactively.

·       Automate audits and enforcement of security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.

·       Work with network, security, and DevOps teams to integrate automation into broader IT workflows.

·       Use Git/bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines to test and deploy network changes safely and efficiently.

·       Document automation processes, standards, and workflows to ensure consistency and team knowledge.

·       Build automated testing frameworks for validating network configurations before deployment.

·       Analyze and improve network performance through data-driven automation strategies.

·       Continuously learn and implement emerging network automation tools, protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications

 

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

 

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

·      5-7 years of experience in network automation, network engineering, or related field

·       Proficiency in languages like Python or Bash to create scripts for automating network tasks and workflows.

·       Hands-on experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Netmiko to automate network configuration and management.

·       Ability to interact with RESTful APIs, webhooks and handle data formats like JSON and YAML to integrate and control network devices programmatically

·       Experience with  Netbox, SuzieQ, Batfish or other opensource network automation tools

·       Strong communication and collaboration skills

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

·       Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security protocols

·       Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5

·       Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Logi Monitor, Zabbix, or PRTG

·       Experience with Opensource tools such as Kafka, Prometeus,

·       Ability to apply ML models to identify and predict unusual network behavior or performance issues.

·       Skill in handling and preparing network data for AI applications, enabling accurate model training and insights.

·       Experience embedding AI-driven logic into automation workflows/tools to enable smarter, adaptive network operations
