Supply Chain Optimization Planner

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with a passion for data analytics to join the Hard Surface Planning team. This role will focus on Hard Surface Inventory Planning, Capacity Planning, and Analytics within the Hard Surface Planning group. 

The Supply Chain Optimization Planner will serve as a liaison between Supply Planners and the Global Sourcing Team, understanding supplier capabilities and constraints that influence business decisions. The candidate will engage in the S&OP (IBP) process, addressing new product launches, supplier issues, capacity plans, and inventory activities. 

This data-centric role requires collaboration across various supply chain functions to generate data-driven insights while continuously enhancing business acumen, analytics skills, project management abilities, and cross-functional relationships. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships and strategic alignment with leadership across the Hard Surface Inventory/ Production Planning groups, logistics, sourcing, IT, and other supply chain functions. 

Capacity Planning 

  • Partner with Production Planning, Global Sourcing, and International operations teams to understand and document changes in vendor and facility capacity, ensuring visibility, traceability, and accountability throughout the Planning and Sourcing processes. 

  • Own Capacity Planning review on all new HS product launch stage gates 

  • Develop and deploy advanced tools to generate accurate planned purchases to our share with our outsourced sourcing and supplier groups. 

  • Lead development of tools and provide analysis around internal Shaw facilities capacities to enable and influence the planners to consider space constraints as inventory is deployed across all facilities. 

Inventory Planning 

  • Leverage expertise in inventory planning and supply chain processes to develop data and analytics solutions, while also advocating for innovative approaches. Responsible for enhancing existing solutions by automating processes wherever possible, which will help minimize the reliance on manual data entry. 

  • Lead team of Replenishment Specialists (2) that are responsible for effectively replenishing our regional distribution network for HS, Pad, Carpet tile, and some carpet roll goods. 

  • Own suspension processes within HSRP to ensure top-tier service, while executing customer service operations for nonstandard and direct ship orders. 

  • Coach and support teams responsible for identifying service issues and developing proactive solutions to prevent future occurrences. 

Data and Analytics 

  • Apply discretion and judgment to select appropriate data and technologies to meet requirements, while developing user-friendly dashboards, reports, and visualizations to empower data-driven decision-making. 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to achieve superior business results by coaching data literacy throughout the team and collaborating with Supply Chain partners and IT. 

  • Prepare structured or unstructured data for analysis, collaborating with IT on data engineering work needed to provision new data sources or ETL pipelines

  • Demonstrate excellent technical proficiency, leveraging skills to build dashboards or reports while using industry best practices for visualization design. 

  • Coach, mentor, and develop analyst on team 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferred in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Math). 

  • 3+ years of experience in Operational and/ or Technology areas (ie. Supply Chain, Enterprise Excellence, Manufacturing, IT, etc.). 

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Peoplesoft, OMP, Qlikview, Tableau, HSRP, or comparable material resource planning software. 

  • Expert at delivering solutions utilizing analytics tools/ languages such as SQL, Tableau, R, Python, Java, JavaScript, or Splunk 

  • Ability to learn new analytical tools/ languages and bring training to peers 

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change through data analytics and process innovation. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in data engineering experience in a role involving data extraction, analysis, and statistical modeling 

  • Knowledge of Shaw’s data warehouse  

  • Business acumen in supply chain to engage with leadership on strategy and direction. 

  • Experience in Planning and Sourcing, as well as working with enterprise-wide order entry software and systems.
