Department and Position Overview

The Servicing Department is responsible for managing the lifecycle of active loans after origination. This includes customer communications, payment collection strategies, workforce planning, delinquency prevention, extension and rewrite programs, and loss mitigation. We collaborate closely with call center and collection operations, finance, risk and IT teams to optimize loan servicing, improve collection strategy and maximize portfolio performance.

As a Risk Operations Analyst in the Servicing Division, you will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic, and data-driven team that directly supports senior executives and influences corporate direction. You will build models used to support our automated consumer lending platform, conduct regular performance analysis of our portfolio, and make improvements to operational efficiency within the company. You will support the department driving insights from our daily generated meta data, and help executives making strategic decisions through data analysis, reporting, automation and cross-functional collaboration.

Position Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Ideal candidate is highly analytical, proactive, holds a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and have 2-5 years analyst experience in working with large datasets, SQL-based environments, and business stakeholders to support strategic initiatives. Exceptional candidates are driven by excellence, attention to detail, and a desire to continually improve, gain industry experience, and enhance productivity.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Economics).
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or risk analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA (formulas, pivot tables, charts and visualizations, etc.). Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar a plus.
  • Strong SQL skills (different joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, temp tables).
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data from multiple sources and extrapolate trends.
  • Ability to communicate data insights clearly and confidently.
  • Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, highly detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Able to quickly adapt to changes in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in auto finance, consumer lending, or credit servicing.
  • Exposure to collection strategies, workforce management, or call center and collections analytics.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets in MS SQL server, SQLyog and/or Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling, segmentation, or scoring strategies.
  • Basic knowledge with Python, R, or statistical tools for exploratory data analysis is a plus.
  • Understanding of regulatory or compliance constraints in financial services.

 

Key Responsibilities

DATA ANALYSIS & REPORTING

  • Analyze loan servicing, extension, and collections data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., delinquency rates, call conversion, roll rate, charge-offs).
  • Develop and maintain hourly/daily/weekly/monthly servicing reports and dashboards for the department and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to support business cases and strategy development.

STRATEGIC INSIGHTS

  • Assist the company and its subsidiaries in establishing monthly collections goals and aligning collections behavior strategies accordingly.
  • Build predictive models or trend analyses to forecast delinquency behaviors, roll rates, and repayment likelihood.
  • Call volume forecast and workforce management for call center and collections team, with the consideration of portfolio growth and seasonality factors.
  • Collaborate with collections directors to assess campaign or strategy effectiveness.
  • Evaluate operational performance of agent and AI-driven servicing tools (e.g., Salient’s “Taylor” virtual agent).
  • Support segmentation of customer risk groups (30/60/90+ DPD, charge-offs, payment arrangements, etc.).

DATA QUALITY & PROCESS AUTOMATION

  • Comprehend and write complex SQL queries to extract and transform data from internal databases to analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with IT or Nowcom team continually to improve company level database engineering and pipelining, and reporting efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in transactional data sources related to servicing activities.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to business and technical audiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Risk, IT, Call Center, and Legal/Compliance teams.
  • Translate business questions into structured analytical frameworks and solutions.

Salary:

$65,000 - $80,000 Plus Bonus
