We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of our enterprise data architecture. This individual will drive the evolution of a monolithic data infrastructure into a distributed, micro-services-based, cloud-native ecosystem. A strong understanding of data modeling, financial systems, and enterprise data management practices is essential. This is an opportunity to influence the evolution of our platform while fostering innovation and collaboration across global engineering teams.
What you will be responsible for
- Architect and implement enterprise-scale data platforms to support cloud-native, micro-services application architecture.
- Lead the redesign of legacy monolithic database applications into distributed, domain-based data services.
- Define and manage data domain models, schemas, and contracts to support modular service-based architectures.
- Design and architect enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and data lake structures with attention to scalability, governance, and performance.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to align data strategies with overall platform goals.
- Establish data standards, policies, and best practices aligned with financial data conventions and regulatory compliance.
- Guide and support development teams in implementing data services and interfacing with cloud storage, analytical tools, and event streams.
- Participate in architectural reviews and ensure consistency and scalability of data infrastructure patterns.
- Champion innovation in the use of AI/ML tools and analytics to drive value from enterprise data assets.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture or database engineering roles, with experience in cloud-native transformations.
Technical Expertise
- Proven track record in designing, implementing, and scaling relational and non-relational databases.
- Expertise in modern data architecture patterns including data mesh, domain-driven design (DDD), and micro-services.
- Deep experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable)
- Strong background in data warehouse and ETL/ELT architecture
- Solid understanding of messaging/event systems such as Kafka for data streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with financial services data structures, standards (e.g., FpML, FIX), and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), data security, and privacy best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, dbt), and metadata management platforms.
- Experience with modern data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, including performance optimization, data modeling, and integration with cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence data strategy across engineering and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of graph data models or time-series data engines is a plus
- Experience with regulatory data compliance (e.g., SOX, Basel, GDPR) in financial contexts.

Salary Range:
$140,000 - $222,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
