We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior / Principal Data Analyst (Business Intelligence), to join Workforce Singapore (WSG)’s Data Strategy and Analytics Division (DSAD). You will work with a team of analysts on existing Business Intelligence (BI) reporting while gradually taking on team leadership responsibilities. You will also be instrumental in transforming how we work with data: shifting from manual reporting to scalable, automated insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Work with business teams to understand their reporting and analysis needs, design solutions that meet those needs, work with a team of analyst to gather intelligence and provide actionable insights.

• Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets, informing policy and operational decisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists/engineers and business stakeholders, to integrate and deploy BI use cases onto Data Platform.

• Guide data queries optimisation using SQL and Python to support analysis, automation, and data validation, establishing best practices for your team to follow.

• Oversee end-to-end development of BI Projects on Data Platform – set data collection methodologies, build data analytics models, implement automated CI/CD pipelines, develop interactive dashboards / application.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics, recommending and implementing best practices to enhance analytical capabilities.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote data literacy and stewardship across the organization, fostering a culture that values data as a strategic asset.

• Grow and mentor a high-performance analytics team.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven experience in leading data analytics teams, with a strong track record of delivering impactful analytical solutions.

• Proven experience in data analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), containerization tools (e.g., Kubernetes), Machine Learning Operations (e.g. CI/CD) for data science projects is advantageous.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex data/ concepts and outcomes of analysis in an easy-to-understand manner
