Working under minimal supervision, provide operational support for organizational data needs such as data analyses, reporting, dashboarding, and metric definition and development to empower users across the institution with actionable insights to drive real and measurable results.
Duties include: serve as an analytics resource for independent projects and facilitate team projects; implement effective data solutions and develop operational and clinical metrics to drive strategic initiatives; utilize data from various sources to draw analytics insights and create data visualizations and summaries; present findings to stakeholders with clinical and non-clinical backgrounds using clinical, business, and analytical skills and proficiency; utilize statistical analysis to evaluate data from the electronic health records; utilize electronic medical record tools, data models, and products to deliver practical and actionable insights and empower decision makers; and apply analytical products and tools to support the strategic initiatives, operational reporting, and data analysis needs.
Additional duties include: facilitate conversations with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and translate to technical requirements; develop complex, multi-step SQL data models and write efficient SQL queries using data warehousing techniques; write sustainable and scalable code; create appropriate data solutions such as dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools, and perform data analysis for the measurement of processes and outcomes; facilitate meetings independently; collaborate with the enterprise data warehouse, data governance, clinical informatics, and business teams on issues relating to data quality, architecture or the structure of data repositories impacting analytics; define and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on available data assets to track and monitor clinical trends and ensure compliance; contribute to creating best-practices for data use and embedding data-driven decision making in the organization; support additional team functions including data literacy education across the enterprise, peer code reviews, and onboarding and training of new employees; and identify and communicate institutional impact of projects throughout the organization.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics or a related field and 2 years of related experience with healthcare database management, data warehousing, and clinical data analysis, and using the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, Qlik Sense data visualization tool, Airflow and GitHub integration tools, and SQL and R programming languages.
