Information about the position 

You will report directly to the Director of Data Science & Analytics and regularly engage with a variety of stakeholders across the domain. In the role, you will be expected to demonstrate hands-on excellence as well as ability to create impact through others by aligning, coordinating, and setting quality standards.

About the domains:

Supply: The Supply domain ensures that sellers can easily create quality listings in existing and new categories. In addition the domain ensures that all those listings constitute a well-organized item inventory for the marketplace, essential for search & recommendation. Finally the domain ensures sellers have the tools and information to manage their items and improve their sales.

Revenue: The Revenue domain is a one stop shop for all pricing and revenue decisions in the marketplace. Next to 4 regular EPDA product teams, there are two businesses that are part of Revenue domain - Pricing business and Ads business. We are looking for a Team Lead for the Ads and VAS DSA team, consisting of Decision and Data Scientists.

In this position, you’ll 

• Lead several Decision Scientists in the Intelligence team
• Set operational strategy for the Intelligence team (3-6 months horizon plan)
• Ensure high quality output of the Intelligence team
• Ensure effective tools and processes for your team
• Ensure you hire talented people for your team, and support with DSA hiring in the domain
• Communicate with stakeholders in the domain (Domain leadership, Product teams)
• Assist with technical challenges, management topics, and hands-on analytical work
• Work with Analytics Engineers on prioritizing their roadmaps

About you 

• Hard skills:
• You have significant experience working in Data Science & Analytics
• Proficient in SQL and in a statistical programming language (Python, R, etc.) as well as BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
• Statistically proficient (e.g. regression analysis, A/B testing)
• Soft skills:
• A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
• Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English
• People skills:
• Passionate about working with people, developing teams, and helping others deliver results
• Problem solving:
• Able to take any abstract or ill defined problem and turn it into a clearly structured project with clear deliverables that bring value and impact
• Able to balance between analysis depth (time needed) and business impact and help others do the same
• You have outstanding business acumen, analytical skills, and long-term planning skills
• Comfortable with constantly changing environment and able to structure your own and your team’s work

The salary range for this position is € 4,283 - € 5,800 gross per month.
