Job Description

The Data Management and Data Governance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the overall purchasing data landscape, data architecture, and data governance within the Processes, Systems, and Governance department. This role ensures that all data-related activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The specialist will work closely with IT, procurement, and other internal stakeholders to establish data rules, maintain data integrity, and foster a data-driven culture within the organization.

We are looking for a data enthusiastic colleague to join our SMART Purchasing and Digitalization team. If you are passionate about interfaces between business processes and data technologies, you might be just the right fit. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Landscape Management: Oversee the overall purchasing data landscape, ensuring data is accurately integrated and maintained across systems.
  • Data Architecture: Develop and maintain data architecture to support efficient data management and reporting.
  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Data Rules: Define and implement data rules and guidelines to maintain data integrity and consistency.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of data to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring high data quality standards.
  • System Optimization: Work with IT and procurement teams to enhance the functionality and usability of data management systems.
  • Compliance: Ensure all data management activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, finance, and operations teams, to ensure alignment and support for data initiatives.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal users on data management best practices and system usage.
  • Data-Driven Culture: Promote and foster a data-driven culture within the organization by advocating for the use of data in decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management systems, databases, and data governance tools. Strong SQL and Excel skills are a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data management and governance.
  • Experience with specific data management and governance systems (e.g., SAP BW, Oracle Data Warehouse).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific data management practices and standards.
