We are currently looking for a Credit & Collections Director to join our Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end credit risk management, encompassing the definition of risk appetite, the selection and implementation of credit-decisioning technology and data infrastructure, and the design of collections strategies.
It involves leading and developing credit and collections teams, managing key external partnerships, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while driving a proactive, data-driven approach to credit and collections performance.
The Credit & Collections Director will be directly reporting to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define credit risk appetite and decisioning framework across markets, including exception governance, scorecard development, and champion/ challenger testing
- Own the selection, implementation, and management of credit-decisioning platforms and data pipelines, in collaboration with Product and Business Intelligence teams
- Design and implement collection strategies and tools across the full lifecycle, from early delinquency to legal recovery
- Develop early-warning dashboards and predictive cure models
- Lead and develop credit and collections teams across countries, setting key KPIs and driving A/B tests on limits and repayment strategies
- Manage partnerships with credit bureaus, legal and recovery vendors, ensuring SLAs support fast and effective recoveries
- Ensure compliance with consumer credit, data protection, and AML/KYC regulations, partnering with Legal & Compliance on policies and audits
- Demonstrate strong credit risk ownership and a proactive, results-driven approach, bringing a founder mindset
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related; MBA, CFA, FRM or similar is a plus
- 5+ years of experience leading credit-risk and collections functions in automotive leasing, consumer finance, fintech or retail banking; experience in a multi-country scope is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Excel and analytical skills to quickly understand and solve problems are essential
- Experience building statistical or machine learning scorecards, affordability models, and champion/challenger testing is highly valued
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, and BI tools is a plus
- Hands-on experience with decision engines and collections suites
- Strong understanding of European consumer credit and data privacy rules, with the ability to turn legal requirements into practical processes
- Proven leadership in building and coaching diverse, high-performing teams, with a strong data-driven approach
- Excellent command of English and Polish, both written and verbal, is mandatory; knowledge of Greek or Romanian is a plus
