Data Integration & Middleware Engineer (Hybrid â 3 Days Onsite)
Location: Milwaukee, WI or Woodstock, Illinois
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who loves connecting systems, building seamless data flows, and driving digital transformation? Weâre looking for a forward-thinking Integration & Middleware Engineer to help shape the future of our enterprise technology landscape.
In this hybrid role, youâll design, build, and support APIs and middleware solutions that integrate on-premises and cloud application powering data across the business and enabling smarter decisions. What Youâll Do
- Build and manage secure, high-performance APIs and microservices.
- Design middleware solutions that bridge cloud-based and on-premises platforms.
- Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and business teams to turn integration needs into scalable solutions.
- Use tools like Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and Ansible to automate and optimize integrations.
- Create and maintain data models and diagrams using Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and continuously improve system performance.
- Implement best practices for API security, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
What You Bring
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in API design, middleware, or system integrations.
- Solid experience with Azure cloud services and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Familiar with programming languages like .NET, Python, or Node.js.
- Understanding of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, SQL, and modern database technologies.
- Comfortable working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and event-driven systems.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Bonus Points For
- 5+ years of integration experience.
- Certifications in Azure, API design, or database tech.
- CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Familiarity with serverless and IaC tools like Terraform.
- Experience with Azure MQ, WAFs, and modern security protocols.

The annual hiring range for this position is: $88,000-$110,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
