Manager, Data Visualization

Your Role

The Advanced Analytics team delivers data visualization solutions using Tableau to support strategic decision-making. The Manager of Data Visualization will report to the Director of Advanced Analytics. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of data visualization solutions that empower business leaders to make data-driven decisions. Your work will directly influence strategic initiatives by transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights using Tableau and other tools. Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Manage staffing, including recruiting and hiring new team members as needed, based on assessments of the talent of the existing team’s talent and the labor needs
• Be responsible for overall implementation of departmental goals and objectives
• Manage control of activities such as systems design and analysis, applications and systems programming, database management, network systems, telecommunications, and data processing operations
• Be responsible for building and growing talent; support your team through encouragement and by example
• Be responsible for complex projects/ clients/products/ programs
• Lead the design and delivery of Tableau dashboards and data visualizations that support strategic decision-making across business units
• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability for reporting needs
• Establish and enforce best practices for visualization standards, data storytelling, and user experience
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable visual insights and performance metrics
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Requires at least 7 years prior relevant experience, including 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor or project/program manager
• Requires proven experience leading teams in the development of Tableau dashboards and enterprise-level data visualization solutions
• Requires strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and analytics best practices
• Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries preferred
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or AWS preferred
• Requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
