The Role: Senior Data Engineer  

The Location: Islamabad, Pakistan  

The Team: Our team is responsible for the design, architecture, and development of data products using a variety of tools that are regularly updated as modern technologies emerge. Responsibilities:  

  • Assist in the design and development of scalable data solutions that align with business objectives under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Help maintain and optimize existing data solutions, addressing technical issues and contributing to improvements in data architecture and code quality.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to understand requirements and support the translation of business needs into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to documentation efforts and communicate technical concepts clearly to ensure understanding among team members and stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge in data engineering practices.

What We’re Looking For:  

Basic Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Advanced SQL programming skills with experience in database performance tuning for large datasets. 
  • Proficiency in relational database management systems (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar). 
  • Exposure to Big Data technologies such as Databricks, Spark/Scala, EMR, Kafka or ETL processes is a plus. 
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken is required to effectively communicate with global team members.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. 
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments is a plus. 
  • Understanding of financial industry fundamentals is highly preferred. 
  • Proficiency with at least one programming languages like Java or C#
