Are you passionate about shaping the future of artificial intelligence? The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato is looking for an exceptional Lecturer with expertise in deep learning approaches to computer vision and natural language processing to join our team of innovators and educators.
What you will do:
- Lead ground-breaking research in deep learning techniques.
- Inspire the next generation of computer scientists by introducing them to the field of AI and teaching courses on computer vision and NLP.
- Collaborate with diverse, interdisciplinary teams to solve real-world challenges using AI.
- Mentor students and secure research funding to support transformative projects.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a closely related field, a research and scholarship record of excellence at a national and international level, demonstrated by impactful publications in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, CVPR or ACL, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of how their research could enhance professional practice and contribute to the community in a manner consistent with the university’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
