As a Senior Data Engineer, you would be working to simplify access to data within the company. Our team delivers data pipelines for a variety of different business areas and use cases. Luminor Senior Data Engineers are not behind closed doors but are working closely together with Product Owners to deliver top-notch data solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
- Work within a Domain Delivery team to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
- Ensure that your work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers
- Remain up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs
- Capable of refining, planning, and executing data engineering requirements in close collaboration with product owners and data architects
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback. Guide junior engineers through complex problems and projects
- Recognize and praise innovative solutions. Encourage professional development and celebrate team achievements
- Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain consistency and reliability
What We Expect:
- At least 4+ years of work experience in Data Engineering role with good understanding and working knowledge of Data Warehouse, Data Marts and Batch / Stream ETL processes
- Good understanding and expertise in Oracle, Sybase or any modern data warehouse technology and mandatory to have professional to advanced level SQL querying and authoring skill
- Expertise in designing effective and robust automated ETL data pipeline. Demonstrated expertise in Apache Airflow orchestration tool is an advantage
- Hands on expertise on authoring Python based modular data transformation pipelines using Pandas, NumPy, Duck DB and other data processing packages
- Exposure to utilize the AI technologies for better productivity
- Demonstrated experience in leading fellow data engineers in problem-solving, mentoring, code reviews, development, and educating the team on best data engineering practices
- Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and interest in working with a diverse set of peers
- Ability to build a shared understanding of the problems and determine potential solution
- Ability to be self-organized, balanced and show initiative

- Genuine enjoyment of the art of building great data solutions
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or similar majors
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional project team
- Familiarity and experience with common BI and Data exploration tools (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI)
- Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
