About Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Research Assessment Expert with expertise in Statistics and Psychometrics to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in leading psychometric research, assessment design, and advanced data analysis for our cutting-edge educational assessments and personalized adaptive learning platforms. You will play a crucial role in developing sophisticated adaptive assessments and optimizing the algorithms that power our learning solutions.

Key Responsibility:

  • Lead the development of adaptive and diagnostic assessments for our personalized adaptive learning platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with instructional designers and subject-matter experts to design psychometrically sound assessment items aligned with specific learning goals.
  • Conduct advanced item calibration and scaling using a range of models including Item Response Theory (IRT - 1PL, 3PL, and 4PL models) and Cognitive Diagnostic Models (CDM).
  • Perform Differential Item Functioning (DIF) analysis to ensure fairness and equity across all assessments.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the psychometric properties of adaptive learning assessments.
  • Design and optimize algorithms for Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) and personalized learning pathways, leveraging multi-dimensional models.
  • Integrate sophisticated psychometric models with machine learning approaches to enable dynamic content recommendation.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with software engineers and data scientists to ensure the effective implementation of adaptive systems.
  • Analyze large-scale educational data to assess the reliability, validity, and efficacy of assessments and learning interventions.
  • Conduct comprehensive simulation studies to evaluate and optimize adaptive algorithms.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, data scientists, and product managers, to align psychometric designs with user needs.
  • Train internal teams on advanced psychometric methods and the effective integration of assessment data into adaptive learning solutions.

Education:

  • PhD (Preferred) or Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Educational Measurement, or a closely related quantitative field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in psychometric analysis, developing adaptive learning platforms, or working with large-scale assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing AI or ML-driven solutions for education is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of psychometric theories, including IRT, Classical Test Theory (CTT), and CDM.
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) methods.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of statistical techniques including Regression analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM), Bayesian modeling, and multivariate techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming languages such as R and Python, and familiarity with various ML tools and techniques.
  • Outcome-oriented with excellent organizational, project management skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences, including peers, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences.
